Waxing is a temporary method of hair removal. A warm wax is applied to the hair on the skin and a soft cloth/pellon is used to remove the wax and hair. Hair must be at least a 1/4" long for best results. Allow 3 - 4 weeks between appointments to synchorize the growth of hair follicles. We use a lotion for slowing down the hair growth post-waxing, if desired. Over the years, we have had clients comment on the hair reduction/thinning of actual hairs but when the same clients have switched to Laser Hair Removal they have recognised the savings of time and money with Laser Hair Removal compared to perhaps a lifetime of waxing.
It is important that you let us know of any medications that you are taking and/or any skin products that you are using because these medications may cause the skin to thin or to be extra sensitive to waxing. Thin, sensitive skin can lift with the wax. If you have taken Accutane within the last year it is not advised to wax for one year after you have stopped taking this medication.
Do not wax if you are on any of these medications:-
The use of steroid creams or medication can cause thinning of the skin. Waxing cannot be done whilst using such medication(s), and we recommend waxing is not done until three months after completing the treatment.
